Re: Windows for Atlanta area home

Fortis and 800 aren't really the comparative equivalents. You would need to look at the 500 vs. the Fortis with an additional performance nod going the direction of the 500 in that head to head.

Re: Seeking advice on replacement windows

How, if FG if more efficient, are nearly all the most efficient windows on the market vinyl vs. fiberglass barely cracking the list.

Interesting assertion about STC performance too. Any data to back that up?

I think your logic is solid there. Can't beat that combo.

They are probably overstating it at 20 weeks, but better safe than sorry.

+1.

No reason to "not wrap" the trim if done properly.

Re: Windows for Atlanta area home

I agree with Todd.

The comparable window to the Elements, in the Okna, would be the 800 series.

Re: Okna 500 dx estimate

Will likely require cutting it loose and reinstallation of the window. Not a big deal and the window is more than capable of being uninstalled and reinstalled.

Re: Vinyl replacement windows for a mobile home

Anything in the replacement industry is going to be "custom" as there are no standard sizes. The issue is that the thickness of a replacement window is 3.25" vs. your actual wall.
