New Entry Door and French Patio Door????
I know most people are not very high on Window World, but what kind of doors do they use? And are they worth considering at all?? I've done pretty much everything myself in this house(bought a forclosure) so far but I'm running out of steam and time(have an apprasial coming up). WW is coming Thursda...

Needing help
Ok...I finally settle on Polaris Thermaweld windows. I'm getting ready to start installing them myself and I've got some questions. First the simple ones(or at least I hope so). Each window came with a small strip of vinyl(similar to whats ont he bottom of screen door, just thicker and not as flexib...

Thanks
Yes, the prices are strickly cash and carry. It's my understanding that it's almost a wholesale price. The polaris dealer also installs, but then he'd charge retail for the windows which I am still considering. The Valu-smarts installed would run about $3700 and the Thermal Welds would be about $450...

Recomendation?
Not to hijack Newtoatlanta's thread, but what would you recomend between Valu-smarts at $2314.32, Thermal Weld's at $2921.47, and Simonton Prism Bronzes at $2860.63? All windows are double hung, low e/argon gas, colonial grids. 14 total windows, 3 doubles, UI between 67 and 90. Any of these seem lik...

Same boat
I'm probably in the about the same boat as you are as far as trying to decide what the extra money is good for. I've got a post just below("newbie needing advice") that states where I started at with some qoutes and where I'm at now. My latest qoutes have me in either a Simonton Prism Bron...

Another one
Just got another qoute on Polaris Valu-smarts at $2314.32. Also I'm expecting a qoute on Simonton's Reflections 5050. Am I making to much of this or is there a big difference in any of these windows. So far I think i'm leaning towards either the Simonton Prism bronze, or maybe one of the Polaris win...

More qoutes
Ok, I expanded my search a little(distance wise) and got a few more qoutes. These are for just windows, no installation. Thermaweld's by Polaris for $2921.47. Another qoute from 84 Lumber for Jeld-Wen white vinyles, have no idea what series of windows(yeah I know, good qoute huh?) for $2686.74. Simo...

I guess I should have mentioned...
that I'll be installing them myself. The existing window frames are in pretty good shape, there is ust a lot of broke glass, thus needing to be replaced. The Silverline dealer is the only one(other than Lowes and they are way overpriced on installation and it's not a very good quality install), that...

Newbie needing advice
So I decided to buy a forclosed house that needs some work. Windows being one of them. So I go to Lowes and get some estimates on Reliabuilt and Pella Thermastars. 14 windows(11, with 3 being doubles), double hung, Low E with Argon, with grids. $2500 for the Reliabuilt, $2900 for the Pella's. Next I...
