Re: Sunrise Vinyl or Pella Impervia Fiberglass

One of the things that encourages me about the group of pros here is Eric's example to help a person that he wont get anything from. I believe this type of human respect, kindness and service is true of all the pros I know on here.

Re: Sunrise Vinyl or Pella Impervia Fiberglass

Both are windows, but in totally different product.
Apples to apples would be Pella vinyl(yuk) to Sunrise( very good to excellent)..
or Pella fiberglass (not my fav) to Marvin Essential fiberglass ( much better product).

Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom

Oh it adds strength to the sash. Maybe little to nothing in the horizontal deflection of the CMR.

I mostly sell the Okna/Highmark 800 DX, which is standard reinforced, so I would not know issues with a unit without strong construction.

Re: Window Capping

Thx Brandon. You always lead well, I appreciate that. Jenn send me pictures and we are reviewing the project. It is an old house with painted wood shake siding , the wood window frames have a 5/4 x 4 flat casing some with a nice crown. My suggestion was to keep painting all till they decide to go co...

Re: Window Capping

Jen, are you in Philly?
DE Mike or myself might be able to do.
As Brandon said we are all busy, right now newly signed contract are looking at an install date of April or May.
Pictures of the exterior, qty, and color will all help in getting you an estimate.

Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom

Check to see what the glass thickness available on each is. double strength on the DH and 3/16 on the PW should give ya enough.

trim coil

Who and what do you use for trim coil with white okna windows?
I am currently buying pallets of Berger coil ( this was also Harvey coil). They have 4 whites, none of them a perfect match.
I would also like a heaver coil like G8.
Thx,

Re: Feedback on NE Ohio quote

You would do better to start a new thread. The Okna/Highmark is a great window. We recommend the 800DX to all our customers. We go to market a little differently than most. the 500DX is $50 less than the 800 DX, I want all my customers to buy the 800. The normal delta in my market is $150 between th...

Re: Low E coating

Easy enough to check.
If the coating was placed on surface 1 or 4 you can use a cheap continuity tester to rule that out.
To check surface 2 or 3 placement a flame held up against the glass will show 4 reflections. if one is a different color it is the low e.

Re: Window insulation

Foam is the best.
Caution: do not completely fill the void, even low pressure foam can destort windows and doors.
As Mike alluded a pro gun is the best way to handle.

Re: Replacement Window Manufacture Recommendations

I too would suggest that you contact Windows on Washington, good company.

Window choices I would suggest the Okna 800DX or Vytex Potomac. Both are the lowest AI/AL you will find.

Re: Looking for a quality installer in South Jersey

You are fortunate to have a great installer near you.
JMJ custom windows and doors, AKA DE Mike.
Mike is the very nice and super picky.
Has many options and will make your project look great.
He is a little under priced for what he delivers.
Best,

Re: Quote seem resonable?

Need more specs to eval...color, size, other options, any agg factors? Pocket sill in double hung s is the biggest neg for Pella, but you are not doing any DH, but if you have any you may want to think about brand consistence through the home. I would look for other great windows. Where is your proj...

For sure DE Mike is the guy to call.
He is super busy but worth the wait. If Mike will do your windows you will find no one better. He is fussier than we are.
