Re: Alside Proline 2200 vs Sunrise Essentials

Is this for your personal home?
How long do you think you will live there?
How much draft do you want the windows to allow?

Re: Majestic vs Okna 600

Hey Mike,
If we connect at Okna or the Amish market I will give you one of my Majestic sample.
It is minus a lock had to take it off to service a customer.

Re: Okna 500 vs 600 (or 800)

I have had customers like a plainer looking exterior, flat with bevel.
The Okna is not a bevel it is a cove and bead.

Re: Chicago Area Leads

Very good news. Homesealed is now servicing the city and north.
Brandon and his team are excellent.
My utmost recommendation is to reach out to them.

Re: Chicago Area Leads

Yes that happens.
Call them first to confirm what they sell most and what they have on display.
Right now Okna has no one in your area.
When I did search in your area there are a lot of companies. Th difficulty is cutting through all the stuff to find the right 2 candidates.

Re: Help! window replacement underway serious issues

Well that looks a lot better.
I would guess that your original windows were not flush with the high point of the siding, They were probably 1/4" or so proud, you want that for a caulking ledge. That along with seeing bright new white is a huge difference.

Re: Help! window replacement underway serious issues

How is it going? Do you have a picture of what they did on the interior? On the exterior one thing that stood out to me was the wave of the sill area on the siding. Not sure if they removed sill trim or not, but could have added it to straighten that course of siding junction with the window sill. W...

Re: Help! window replacement underway serious issues

Mike, most salesman do not have enough technical knowledge to do that.
But the measuring guy could.
Again not the norm for most companies to be so detailed.

Re: structural support for picture window.

Also adding structural support mulls ( 2 x4 or 2 x 6) makes this install easier. I would take the 3" off the PW.
