Re: no reply after filling out "get a quote"

I am looking for the Windows4u guy also.... Click on the "Get a Quote" button in my profile box over to the left. That will provide you with a form that you can fill out. When you send that, I will get a copy of the form you filled out. By the way... it's Window4u, not WindowS4u I noticed...

Re: Replacement Windows Lisle, IL

The brand you are looking at is not going to become a top quality window even with a good installation. All the top brands like Okna, Starmark, Softlite and Sunrise are available right here in Chicagoland so my advice would be to get prices on those as well. Just because a window is a premium window...

Yes, quite a few times. Just to make sure, your phone number ends in 8225, correct? I'll call again tomorrow morning(saturday).

Re: no reply after filling out "get a quote"

Hi Scott,
Sorry about that. I tried a few times to call you but have had no luck catching you. Your form said the best time to call is morning, so I'll call you tomorrow morning and we can set up a time to meet.
Thanks!

Re: Starmark - Warranty Question

We had some yellowing screen frame issues back then too. The factory sent new screens per the warranty and the issue was solved.

Re: Condensation

A poster named Tru-Blu who used to frequent these boards quite a bit posted this years ago. You may find this interesting and hopefully helpful: I'm going to throw a lot of statistics at you to address condensation on your windows. Keep in mind that these stats are based on a worst-case scenario of ...

Re: Replacement windows, I think I know what I should do, but...

If the 800 had the Elements single tilt lock, I'd be looking at only 800. When I carried the Elements I had a lot of service problems with the ILTIS locks. I'm not sure if Elements dealers are still having issues with them, but I'd rather not see another one. I never did find out why it was only th...

Re: Self Install Dilema

+1. Get out of the box stores and go to a local building supply house/ lumber yard for some better choices. I agree. And by "building supply house", we mean places like ABC Supply that sell siding and roofing, etc. mainly to the contractors and subcontractors in your area. They will also ...

Re: Exterior back door question

Security is an issue for back doors in many cases. Many thieves would much rather kick in the back door rather than risk getting cut up breaking and crawling thru a broken window. If security is an issue, then go with a steel door (min. 22 gauge). Fiberglass doors give way to kicking open much easie...

Re: Window replacement options and prices

Too bad that Okna is not on their list. It will give any of these windows a run for the money on performance numbers and you'd probably save money too. They would be comparable in options to the Sunrise full frame model.

Re: NFRC.org - Verify Ratings Tab

It's pretty tough to see the pictures as the view is so far away. The Okna 400dx is a little plainer on the exterior.
Also, the Starmark composite they make has a flat look to the exterior, though it's a bit bulkier.

Re: Sloped Sill and Weep Holes

Yes, Okna only has foam in their double hung sills, not a water reservoir. Isn't it silly that when people are trying to keep moisture off the glass of their windows that many window makers put water reservoirs in the sills of their windows. As soon as the temperature drops near zero the water turns...
