Re: Simonton glass packages
Can anyone recommend a different simonton glass pack that might be more appropriate for my area? I would like to have a lower u factor, depending on the cost to upgrade. My best quote at this time is 5800, for 10 dh 3x5 described as above, and 1 slider. I guess what I am asking, is , are there bette...

Re: Simonton glass packages
Thanks WoW for the reply. I had requested the laminated glass for some sound issues we have from some train tracks about 1/4 mile away. It raises the cost of all the units about 1800$, which we are debating. Do you think the prosolar package is adequate for my area? The only thing that changes if I ...

Re: Simonton questions, Help!
Thanks Bill, The updated quotes I received today, included Lami glass. I was very impressed with the price, which was only an 800 upgrade for 10 windows. The saleswoman indicated that she could not make the 72x80 sliding glass door with lami glass, and have it meet the tax credit numbers. Is this co...

Simonton questions, Help!
Ok guys, I have some quotes in, and I am leaning toward the simonton Platinum/5500. It has always been quoted with the low e 366, and I always ask for the super spacer. After going back and rereading some posts, I am concerned that I might need the prosolar package instead for the higher shgc. I liv...

Can anyone tell me about gorell?
After a suggested break from window shopping, I have talked to Okna(does not sell this far west), and Gorell. The Gorell window looks awesome, and has good numbers. It is offered with many glass options, the one they were pushinghad u-.25, and shgc-.20. Can anyone give me an opinion of the window I ...

Re: Black Dot
This is odd, now that I've gone offline and back on they are gone, I am assuming they mark the posts you have viewed, but they were not on the posts form other members though. I was joking about the blackliast, but I am still curious.JM

So no Viwinco, where do I go now!
OK, so there is not much positive to say for Viwinco. If this were your home, what would you install in your own home? Money is always an issue, but spending more to get better is not always a bad thing. There is a limit for everyone, I'll know mine when I see it. Seriously, Okna,softlite,champion,m...
