Re: New Windows

Hope to have some pics this weekend but thus far the new Bay and Sliders are amazing! Whe had 3 sets of DH next to each other and choose to go with a slider in place of each set. We love the new setup and the glass area is amazing!

Re: Wincore vs. reliabilt

Just curious did you get a cost for install vs cost for materials only? If so was the difference big?

Re: New Pella 350 series Vinyl Windows - any good ?

Window4U, anyone who gets you as their installer is a lucky person. Kirill did not deserve this over the top customer service. You were obviously trying to save him from a huge mistake, that he went and made anyway...

Re: New Pella 350 series Vinyl Windows - any good ?

I can actually understand the same day 2hr pitch buy more though. Kirill actually had the foresight to do some looking but then failed to use any advise that was offered.

Re: New Pella 350 series Vinyl Windows - any good ?

I know it is mean but I almost want to laugh at Kirill. Something as important as 35 windows in your home and you took a mere few days to make your decision on what will seal your home for the next 20 years? I appologize in advance, but Kirill you deserve exactly what you bought.

Re: Wincore vs. reliabilt

Lowes and Home Depot are horrible and the installers they use are whoever they can get, even guys who work out of their house. I would stay away and find a company who specializes in windows.

Re: Vinyl replacement windows

I am not sure if you figured it out or not but most of the Manufacturers have a web site that you can request a contact from or they provide dealers info for your area. Be patient and try to look at as many windows as possible until your comfortable, do not be afraid to let the reps know they have c...

Re: Simonton 5500 vs Soft Lite Barrington

My preferred unit is the Okna 800dx, as well as the Soft Lite Imp LS, or Sunrise Vanguard. Why do you like the 800dx over the 500dx from Okna? What pricing delta would you expect to see when upgrading to the 800dx without adding any high end features and using a standard size UI? Last question why ...

Re: New Windows

Final Decision was to go with the Okna 500 Deluxe installed by a local company Aspen Home Improvements. We really like the idea of the large glass area on the sliders and they were the only company willing to quote a Bay window instead of a bow. The installer who does final measurements came out tod...

Re: New Windows

I really appreciate the input. Do you see any issues with Bay window size at all I was ecstatic that we can do a Bay but dismayed why the rest refused to quote a Bay of this size. Also we like the idea of the sliders for the windows but just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing a reason why we shoul...

Re: New Windows

Thanks =) Since I am leaning toward Soft-Lite now I am just waiting on a second quote for a comparisson on the Imperial LS and I would like to see a Gorell 5100 series quote as well.
