eb13, Not to defend the gentleman Chris but perhaps I am. I do think the sales rep was just doing his best and ensuring that you received accurate and complete information. The heat lamp is not some kind of a gimmick as it demonstrates in an "easy to understand way" as to how the glass wor...

Re: Okna Versus Provia Endure Sliding Patio Door and Casement Window
You have the U-Value backwards. Okna casements are a U-Value of .25.
Okna make a better casement and its a step above provia.
How are you comparing a 3 lite patio door to a 2 lite? That seens incorrect.
Where in new jersey are you?

From what we are hearing, Okna does now offer a sound reduction glass. The Okna brand is of a better quality than any other brands you have seen.

Re: need advice on quotes/windows okna v. sunrise v4500 v. provia endure
I have never heard of okna having seal failure issues, sounds like bs to me. Okna does warrranty the IG units as long as you live in the home, thats a fact. If that were'nt true, we would surely know about it since they are kind of a competitor to our company. All the top window brands we recommend ...

Re: Need help - questioning an installation of Okna 800 windows
Flashing the rough opening would not be included in a replacement window install, only a full tear out which includes removing all of the interior and exterior trim down to the studs ( rough opening ). The installer is correct. The seams in the aluminum capping do not get caulked.

Take a picture of the entire window from inside approx 3 feet away. We may be able to determine the make of the window.

The Polaris is my preference. Viwinco is just a cheaply made window in my opinion.

Re: Window replacement
First off, how many windows are you replacing? Double hung, twin double hungs ( 2 windows )? Any grids? The 2 window brands you want your installer to use are kind of at the bottom of the food chain. Pella is just a name, not a contender. So far, the only high quality window quoted is Newpro who off...

Re: Choosing new windows
The Okna is a better window hands down in my opinion. Provia makes a very good entry door, which is what they are really known for. We have been using Provia doors for years but not the window. Definitely a decent window but not up there with Okna. What state are you in?

The vytex potomac is a very good window. You would be hard pressed to find someone who doesnt like it. Its the most money out of the three for a very good reason.

Nothing has changed on the Restoratiins window. The same workers are at the same facility that manufacture sunrise. They didnt alter the window. My partner was just at the plant.
