... lower quality installations. This is also almost always true for private label and limited dealership business model too, although not quite as prevalent.

Re: Looking for replacement windows - need help!

ThermalMaxx is likely a private label name.

Can you ask them for the manufacturer or fabricator of the window? That will allow us to give you more directed feedback on the actual product.

Re: Reccomendation for Simonton installers in North New Jersey?

Cutting Edge is a "private label" and actually uses a few different products depending on the market, so it depends which one it is. The MI product has a lot of nice options, but pretty poor performance ratings.

Re: Confused

Like nearly all manufacturers, Simonton only uses one extrusion for all their specialty shaped windows, casements, bays etc. So it shouldn't matter whether it's a private label or not. Most private labels are only for double hungs and sliders.

What is the private label named?

What window do they actually use as opposed to their private label window.

There is only one person that I knowingly could recommend in Wisconsin and that is HomeSealed.

Thanks for the clarification Bill. Just so I understand, does Simonton and Amcraft both make a window with the same name, or does Simonton make it for Amcraft/ABC Supply?

Re: Simonton 5500/Gorell 5100 or Preservation

Preservation is an Alside "private label". Just search Alside on the forum to get the general consensus on that product. The Gorell 5100 is an excellent choice and one of my fav's, the Simonton is nice as well. Either will equal or better the Plygem offering.

I've never heard of it and suspect that it is just a private label name given to the Imperial LS so that homeowners will think it's something that only this company has.
