Re: Windows in North Jersey

I have never seen a glass pak that will provide a u factor in the 20's with a SHGC in the 30's. In New Jersey I think you will benefit from a lower SHGC if you use AC in the summer

As suggested the double pane with lami glass will provide the best relief from the road noise.

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

The price I posted is the list price for painting the Reflections 5500 or Impressions 9800. The Prism window is a private label window sold exclusively through Norandex and as you know the Platinum is a rebranded 5500. We are Reflections and Impressions distributors so we do not have access to Prism...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

The painted exterior finish is $232.00 list price under 120 UI and $277.00 120 UI and over. The tan color is a co-extruded tan/white if that color works and costs 30% over the base window price. I share your concerns regarding here today and gone tomorrow manufacturers; in my 30 years in the bus we ...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

I would certainly get the other estimate; I am not here to sell anyone anything or market a product I’m only here to provide guidance when I think my input may be helpful. I would not be too frustrated with the Simonton salesman they are almost always purchasing their Simonton products through distr...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

VB I have read a few of your posts and see you are considering the low-e366 that would be a good choice in your climate. The ETC Starter 366 in the Simonton 5500 is the least expensive way to upgrade to low-e 366 but I read you may interested in upgrading to the ETC Super 366 and that is not the bes...

Re: Norandex windows TX - Simonton Prism vs View Point 3000

There’s one other possibility. Norandex manufactured their own aluminum window and patio door in Florida and foolishly Simonton purchased the plant and window line only to discontinue the product after about two years and Simonton is stuck with all of the warranty issues. If they have this window an...

Re: Comparing Windows: Simonton and Gorell

The 270 is the Prosolar the Lowe 366 is triple coating of low-e that provides a low solar heat gain that is desirable in a climate that is mostly air-conditioning . Lami is laminated glass and it does not change the thermal properties much. Where are you located? Simonton has several glass offerings...

Re: Seeking Replacement Windows in Madison, WI area

We were a dealer for first fiberglass window ever manufactured from Owens Corning and the sales presentation was designed to smear vinyl and to convince the purchaser that they would be crazy to purchase a vinyl window. I actually believed this due to the consistent issues we were having with the lo...

Re: Vinyl New Construction Window Recommendations

I’m not going to get into the debate of which window on your list is the best because I don’t know enough about the other windows. Regarding the Simonton I would recommend going with the ProFinish Brickmold 300 for a single hung; it is Simonton most recent new construction offering. The ProFinsh Mas...

Re: Installation Question

The funny thing is that you can’t get krypton in the 5050 but Simonton posts test results with it. Below is the current data on the 5050; you have to select Supercept or Super Spacer with double strength glass to achieve these performance numbers. 40" (T) X 60" (T) 5050 Reflections White D...

Re: Simonton 5500 Reflections vs. other choices

Service Tech this is an old thread but anyway your Simonton info is dated and incorrect. The Simonton 5500, 9800 and their rebranded private label equivalents are available with an integral nailing fin with J channel and the J can be factory removed when not desired The UV11 Snap in nailing fin can ...
