Re: Pure Core Platinum windows
I’d guess tempered glass would add $100-$200 per window. The Soft-Lite would be comparable in specs and quality. The Sunrise has a slimmer frame which many like.

Re: Pure Core Platinum windows
That appears to be the Restorations line. Your pricing seems very considering there are all tempered, you sure about that? Pricing would excellent it the window has the same glass pack as the one in the picture. All tempered, all triple pane and all Krypton are expensive add ons. Technically almost ...

Re: Please clear up a question about window frames/sashes
It is hard to answer these questions with the limited details that have Been provided. To properly fully rehab an old window may cost you more than installing a quality vinyl window, 10 out if 10 times I could do the vinyl cheaper. Rehabbing old windows is very vague because there are many levels of...

Re: Windows for Atlanta area home
I think that method would only make sense if they were using a finned/ new construction window when the cavity is inaccessible. If it is an insert window there method is dated and not preferred. The pricing looks great and the 800 would be the choice. I’d ask them about foam but my guess they are re...

Re: Aluminum Wrap for brick molding
I’m with Ricky, if company is not comfortable capping your windows correctly, I’d doubt there capabilities in general. It has been industry standard for years. If it is done wrong It will accelerate trim rot.

Re: Aluminum Wrap for brick molding
My house is new construction and capped in aluminum by choice. My other house that I rent was bought in 1993 and was capped in aluminum before well before I bought it. It still looks good and zero issues with rot or water infiltration.

Re: Windows for Atlanta area home
The Imperial Elite/ LS is pretty much the same window as the Element with small differences so it’s right there at the top. The Classic Is would be at the bottom of the list.

Re: Windows for Atlanta area home
I’d put the Element at the top and Vytex and 500 2nd and the Pro-Via last. pricing , installation details and the install could change the order.

Re: Aluminum Wrap for brick molding
The capping should be installed so it doesn’t leak at the top and does get water it it gets kicked out over the sill. The drip cap is the most important and the sill detail is the fail safe.

Re: Windows for Atlanta area home
That pricing is great, as long as the installation company checks out . The Vytex Fortis has solid reviews and has very good performance numbers. If everything checks out these are definitely pre -covid prices and I would jump on it.

I would just ask them again . They could just email you the paint code. If you know the paint manufacturer you could ask them if they have that paint code in there system

Take a pic on the inside with the sash about 1/4” lower than frame . One with lower sash raise a 1/4 above would help also.
