Re: Window and patio door
I’d disagree with shorter lead times being a red flag, many window companies are now way less and I don’t know of any that got to 20 weeks at there worst. I’d put the flag on Sunrise since lead times in general are coming down While there lead times are getting longer. Of course this could all chang...

Re: Seeking advice on replacement windows
I’d say the the Pro-Via is better than the Simonton, both are pretty decent vinyl windows but there are better products out there. The Infinity is different product both material wise and how the product is sold and marketed. I would say it looks better that the other two and performs worse.

Hard to tell exactly what is going on by the pics, but the coil does look very short. More pictures would help preferably al title further back.

Re: Impact of SHGC differences
I think the Classic is still a solid window and better than most out there. It is kept around because it is still a solid window and gives Soft-Lite a different line That is available to different dealers. If I was to use that window I would option it out with SuperSpacer, sash reinforcement, and fo...

Re: Polaris? Vinylmax? NE Ohio Quote Questions
Lowest prices I have seen in quite some time. Make sure all the installation details Are the same. The triple paned seem quite high as compared to there dual panes, the dual panes are crazy low. Keep in mind Polaris does really have standard packages. The window has many options that are built to or...

Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
I think the horizontal deflection is where It would help most. I would be more concerned about the vertical deflection of the horizontal sash rails and I don’t see DS glass helping.

Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
I would say reinforcement is mandatory, the glass thickness is nice and a worthy upgrade but is not going to add any strength to the sash.

Re: Window Capping
What is on the exterior now, just wood trim or trim that has aluminum on it ?
Sounds like you had aluminum enclosed trim and they did nothing with gap between the old storm and new window?

Re: Window installation questions
The rough open get doesn’t get aluminum trim installed on it . The actual trim/casing does not need to be pressure . As stated, a barrier should be installed between treated and aluminum .

Re: Surface 2 vs Surface 3
I don’t remember that. I have even have data that would show a lower u value with surface 2 with same specs, but most are identical. Strangely enough the u value will sometimes drop with 3mm(0.26)glass vs 2.5mm glass (0.27). The solar heat gain on there supreme 3 is about 0.38 vs about 0.29 on there...
