Re: Installer Recommendation in NYC Plus Other Questions
If you plan on staying more than two years I would suggest the 800DX. The 8800 Elegante SGD is built like a tank, operates well and is very air tight, the screen is heavy duty too. You will give up air tightness, but for a thinner profile look at Marvin Essential or Elevate for the SGD. theWindowNerd

In black exterior I would go with Marvin Elevate. The AL is bad.
I also like the Pella Lifestlyes triple pane, you can do several different blinds/shades between the glass. The factor installed rolscreen can be great too.

You have not provided enough of a scope of product or scope of work for anyone to guesstimate with you. What style DH, CA, etc. What about sizes, colors, other options and specifications. How old is the house. Are you doing insert install or full frame full tear out? We might be 41k for 800 dx as in...

Re: Requesting Help on Window Selection
There is both hard information and soft information about windows. The hard information is the test results and facts. You seem good at research, you can find those for yourself. The soft information is the experience and wisdom built up over decades of of broad participation in fenestration. SL was...
