Re: Review - Gorell 5100 sliders with laminated glass
All Gorell windows wider than 28" come with two locks. They can't be ordered any other way. Height, which is what you sighted, has nothing to do with how many sash locks they come with bearing. I've never had issues like the ones you described. This is very odd indeed, especially your comments ...

Re: How to handle 4 adjoining double hungs
Pretty sure Marvin Infinity would make a 3 lite slider that big. I just installed one 135" wide. That said, I'd rather have a casement/picture/casement

Re: Timeless by Gorell
It's not a rebranded 5300, it's a 5100 without the fluted interior frame, Truth, tilt latch/lock mechanism (all in one) and a more weather stripping. It has performance ratings a little better that the 5100 but not quite as good as the 5300. Very attractive window.

I agree with WOW. There's nothing that stands out about them. Their equipment is old and their sales tactics older. I'm not a fan

Re: Window World???
Ask them if they will install Soft-Lites for you. Is that a joke or have you actually seen WW install Softlite? .... Either way, I'd second buddy and avoid them. Their top window line(6000?) is at least "serviceable" , however it has its issues and by the time you add up the costs, you'll...

Re: Should I wrap the window trim or not???
Again difficult to say. If it's a good professional job yes, that's a pretty darned good price. I suspect you'll pay more that that to maintain the wood over time. If it's a so so job maybe not

Re: Should I wrap the window trim or not???
That depends My wood trim is not rotted and is in good shape. I've heard good and bad about wrapping the trim. What is the opinion of the board? I can't speak for the entire board but I've never had any issues with wrapping them As long as they are properly sealed from the elements they should last...

Re: Double vs Triple Pane
And better sound prevention? My last (cheapest) option would be just to replace the outside double pane window with a new double pane window and make sure there is a way to open the outside window from within the bedroom. I know it's probably someone you guys don't want to hear but it's probably my...
