Re: Softlite Imperial Elite vs Joyce Heritage
No AL numbers on their website, usually that means they are embarrassed by how drafty the window is. That’s the number I was looking for. The only Place I found the air infiltration number was on another forum at 0.07. This information was apparently sent to the homeowner from Zen. I have no proble...

Re: Vytex GrandView v Vytex Fortis
I’m not sure if I would call it a “ copy” if it is based off an extrusion sold by extrusion companies. My guess it is more of a variant based upon the same extrusion.

Re: Can any contractor install Okna
If you can get the Okna wholesaled to you at a fair price that is great, not to many do this.
A window foam gun can be had for $50 dollars, but some still use fiberglass insulation for some crazy reason.
There is no special training from the manufacturer and they all go in basically the same.

Re: Can any contractor install Okna
High end vinyl is kinda of niche market. Products can be very regional and typically sold as installed product only. I would say quite often premium prices are normal. It is to bad that there is not more quality options for contractors. If you go this route you will probably need to bring in another...

Re: Pure Core Platinum windows
The Soft- Lite would probably be more expensive in Triple pane and the Sunrise cheaper in dual pane . I’d say Sunrise is the winner If the things Homesealed mentioned check out. You picked 2 nice suits , hopefully you get an excellent tailor.

Re: Pure Core Platinum windows
Analogies are always ridiculous on this forum, We all know Ricknez is comparing a suit from a thrift store to an off the the rack from Sears and hasn’t rode a bicycle in 10 years. I’ll give him the fishing pole comparison . I think you are on the right path since you are getting bids on some known g...

Re: Pure Core Platinum windows
I think the price is competitive considering the cost of tempered glass and casements cost more as well.
Every modern window should come with some type of Low-E Coating and argon. I would check and see what glass package you are getting . What did the Soft-Lite quote come in at?

Re: Economy 54x54 Sliders for Porch?
Jeld-Wen is low end, in stock is always cheaper. I’d increase the budget and be aware of lead times if you plan on doing it this year. Where in MN are you? You would have to budget another $100 per window minimum to get something decent.
