Re: Norandex windows TX - Simonton Prism vs View Point 3000
I would say the Simonton's are better, but Viewpoint is a good window. At 2/3rd's the cost I would take the Viewpoints. As usual install is key.

Re: replace casements with double hung???
This would not be required in MN if the home is owner occupied and has no code compiance orders on the house.MacNC wrote:If you are replacing a bedroom window, be sure that the new windows meet the minimum egress width and height for a bedroom. Your building inspector should be able to help with this.

Why don't you give us the details and what the low and high range should be then.I am not that familiar with Okna pricing but have a pretty good idea from postings on this board(some of which have good details on the install).I also know that installs can greatly differ especially on a high rise.

Re: Is everyone ready for the new lead testing requirements?
They are shifting responsibility to those who profit while disturbing lead.I have told subcontractors on my jobs that it's about time you finally have to clean up after yourselves. The funny thing is you can go and disturb up to 6 square ft. of plaster and you are not required to follow the rules but...
