Re: Replacement Windows- Please Help! Sunrise vs. MI

Drop the MI from consideration. Bargain basement product. The Sunrise is good, and maybe get another option to compare.

Re: Am I Going Insane?

He's not being honest or straightforward. The other guys are right. Those are multiple units. It sounds like he may just rip people off on single units for $2k each so he doesn't charge much more for doubles. You are getting good advice here from honest professionals but you seem to not want to beli...

Re: Wisconsin buyer - narrowed selection -advice please

Milgard is only distributes in the western region of the country these days. Your product winners are the Sunrise and the Okna 500 there imo. A significant step up from the others. Also, I have to ask, is the username "big guy shopping", or "big guys hopping" lol. I think I prefe...

Re: Renovations by Sunrise Windows

Gotta be a mistake. Too close for sunrise to use a name like that, and its not very appealing anyway. May as well call it Regurgitation at that point.

Is this company marketing the product as Softlite, or simply as Timeless windows brand?

Re: Simonton 5050 vs Vista Panorama vs Soft Lite Barrington

That chart came directly from Vista. I called directly to ask for the information because the vendor who have the window quoted through didn't know what the number was... that's a whole different story... Don't doubt that rum. My question is, why put out a chart full of various sizes as opposed to ...

Re: Simonton 5050 vs Vista Panorama vs Soft Lite Barrington

That's the first time I've seen an air number published that low for the Panarama. Something seems a little fishy that they are showing a variety of different sizes and ratings on the same model. I've always know it to be in the teens, more like that .15 number. Maybe they improved something though....

Re: Simonton 5050 vs Vista Panorama vs Soft Lite Barrington

I could pull any guy off the street that can operate a cordless drill to install some windows, and the average person that doesn't know what they are looking at will think they are fine. That is until they are leaking air or water, or parts break and the guy is nowhere to be found in a few years to ...

Re: Window World (Alside) vs Zen Windows (Soft-lite)

What you are misisng imo is a good option. WW is who they are purported to be. A discount window company. Not a great window, even more questions when it comes to installation. Zen is a fancy new comer with much of the same. Kind of disingenuous actually. Pricing projects site unseen is bad practice...

Now if they could get a decent air leakage rating in the double hung they might be on to something

Agree on the Sunrise.
Last time I checked, Zen sells the older, lower end models of Softlite. Some of their sales tactics are suspect IMO too, but you have already found that out.

Re: Okna Windows

not much. Only reason to go 600 is if you need a woodgrain interior in my opinion, but at that point you would be better off with the 800 anyway. Not much use for that model if you ask me
