Re: Casement window or slider?

... a dh is generally more airtight than a slider (this is true in the Okna 500 line), when you go twin dh, that's twice the amount of weatherstripped surface. I'd say ...

Re: Okna Insultec vs Provia aspect

The Okna Insul-Tec is a 0.02 so 2.5X tighter than the Aspect. If you look at the two of them side ... The Endure is bulky and chubby looking. The Aspect does have slim lines like the Okna 500 here. If you haven't had them quoted yet...I'd start there. We don't see a huge spread ...

Re: Okna Insultec vs Provia aspect

Okna by a mile. -It beats the Provia both thermally and structurally while boasting a slimmer ... between these two exact products. When I compare the Provia Aspect ComforTech DLA to Okna 500 Heatseal Deluxe: Provia U-Factor is 0.27 and Okna is 0.26 Provia SHGC value is 0.28 and ...

I'm sure they do as its the standard package. It may just be a new sales rep or something like that.

Re: OKNA 5500 (500) Package question - VT rating

Awesome thank you for the clarification. I'll have to call the retailer tomorrow and specifiy "Heat seal". I'm a bit concerned that they didn't know about these packages.

Re: OKNA 5500 (500) Package question - VT rating

Sorry, they use different language for ordering that they do for marketing. LE is the standard double pane, Low-e and argon package. I believe that they refer to that as "Heat Seal", and Heat Seal Deluxe when the foam enhanced frame is added. For your climate this would be the better optio...

Re: OKNA 5500 (500) Package question - VT rating

I did notice that NJ energy ratings were changed. The triple pane options all have .4 VT according to Okna's documentation. The individual I spoke with at the retailer didn't really understand what I was talking about when I asked about Okna's packages only that they come ...

Re: OKNA 5500 (500) Package question - VT rating

1) Great window, nice job finding that. 2) Re: the glass, did you request Sunseal or really emphasize a desire to cut out solar heat as much as possible? Personally I would say that is not the first option that I'd recommend for your location, although it's possible that circumstances could dictate ...

OKNA 5500 (500) Package question - VT rating

Hello - I just got a great quote from for 4 OKNA 5500 new construction windows. Been doing a lot of research, this site being a great resource. They fit our budget - but I do have some concerns. They are coming prepackaged with the Sunseal package ...

Replacement Window Quotes - Okna, Starmark, Provia, Pela, Andersen, Simonton

... Local Contractor: Provia Aspect Vinyl - $20,489 Local Contractor: Okta 500 Vinyl - $10,695 Local Contractor: Starmark (Okta) 7500 APC (composite) ... Okta seems to have a lot of happy customers - so we're leaning towards Okna or Provia, with Okna maybe having the slighter edge based on value/price. ...

Re: DC area: Vytex Williamsburg vs. MI Sunrise 4500 vs. Okna 500/600/800

The 500 is a nice window especially when offered at a discount, but for that fairly small price delta, it's hard to argue with the 800 which is the cream of the crop. That would be my choice.

The 600 is also nice, but again, talking $800 on a $20k ticket, I'd go with the best of the best in the 800.
