Re: Serious Windows 501 & Window World 4000
Serious is ok but overpiriced.there are better windows... Window World uses Alside. Alside do not make a quality window as most pro's here would agree with..alside are known to leak air, have bulky frames, and just arent up there with the quality brands. THEY ALSO COME WITH POCKET SILLS OR SNAP IN S...

Re: Alside Ultra Max
I'm guessingbthe window on right is a sunrise..I like the way sunrise mitres their sill opposed to that ugly overlap that the Sheffield utilizes. Polaris ultra weld do their sill wall the same as the sunrise.

Re: Alside Ultra Max
Alside windows tend to leak alot of air and the ultra mass uses a pocket sill which is a horrible design. Even if you paid 2k for 10 low quality windows, you are still throwing 2k away.
I would increase my budget or wait until I could. Why waste good money.

Re: Milgard Tuscany vs. Ply Gem Pro 200
The salesman was shady ...well, you knew this Before you signed a contract but yet you dd it anyway ??? This is not only odd, it's humorous. I thought I heard it all, this takes the cake. Reminds me of the car salesman that sold a brand new car and the customer claimed he was ripped off because it h...

Re: why simonton window glass size so small?
Premium window companies usually have very good warranties and selling to DIYers who 99% of the time do not do the installation properly and wind up thinking the window is defective when in fact it's the installation. This obviously causes a lot of unnecessary service calls and costs window companie...

Re: Okna 400 va Soft-Lite Pro
My bad..I did say Okna has a better spacer thinking slp uses intercept. However, slp can use super spacer as an option. I think we can all agree duralite will render better numbers than intercept.

Re: Okna 400 va Soft-Lite Pro
the slp contractor wants to sell you slp, of course he's going to say that. okna is installed from the caralina's to maine and can be installed in florida or texas if they had dealers in those area's. i prefer the okna 400 . i think it does have a few edges above the slp. better spacer and better pe...

Re: Double Hung Gorell with half screen
A half screen is what most opt for because it's operable. A full screen is not. The gorell was a great choice.

Re: Anderson Silverline
I think you are crazy by choosing a low quality window like silver line, I don't care what line it is. Since you convinced yourself it's ok because it's priced very low, then good luck and hope for the best. When you decide to do the job again in a few years, take a look at gorell. It's available in...

Re: Marvin Infinity(Integrity) compared to Vinyl brands
Those prices for fiberglass are normal, sometimes it's much more. For vinyl, a high grade vinyl, that compares to the aforementioned would be the Okna 800 enviro-star, sunrise restorations, soft lite elements. In fact, these vinyl windows actually have better performance and structural ratings than f...

Re: HELP! what replacement windows to choose
i dont know what state you are in, but i would look at Okna windows; the"EnviroStar 800 series ". i really looks like wood and is probably the best performing window in the industry or at least one of the best. its a beautiful window and when installed, looks like wood.

Re: Anderson Silverline
You've never had any problems with a silver line? How many customers have drafty silver line or warped silver line windows that never complain because they assumed from the get go that they were cheap and it's expected? I've installed high end windows in rental properties because the owners demanded...
