Re: Simonton 5500 or Berkshire Elite

I found a place that I can get the Softlite Imperial LS for about $605 per window but I have to basically get about 19 windows done instead of the original 9 windows I had planned to get done to get that pricing. Why won't the contractor do only the 9 windows you want to do? I can understand if you...

Re: Sunrise Collections

Thanks for all the input. My only choice is the Sunrise collection and I am happy with that. My only concern is with our big picture window which is 107" by 107". My dealer says he can build a single picture window rather than 2 or 3 smaller windows. Is this workable or should we divide i...

Re: Okna 800 Window question

Does okna offer 3 light sliders in a higher maximum height, I know some other companies do? Are DH a max of 67" too? 3 light sliders have the same maximum height as 2-Lite sliders. On double hungs the maximum height is 85". Would a twin double hung work with the aesthetics of your home?

Re: Okna 800 and 500 Exteriors match?

Just so you know, If you were mixing 800 double hungs with 500 picture windows no one would be able to tell they were different series. They will look like they belong together.

Re: Alside Mezzo

Not a rosy picture for Alside (AMI) or the Mezzo line: Published 12-5-14 in PlasticsNews From the article: The two new window lines helped drive that growth of 4.1 percent but margin compression and other factors hurt the overall financial performance of Mezzo and Fusion windows. Brandon, I'm going to cut you off before you even think to reciprocate my compliment in a future post. DO NOT tell anyone I'm the "Jay Cutler" of the window installation game here in Illinois!

Re: Thermal Industries vs Okna in WI

As to installers, the other part of the 200% proposition, you would be foolish not to contact Homesealed if in their service area. +1 Brandon has a top notch installation program at Homesealed. He's the "Aaron Rodgers" of the window installation game there in Wisconsin. Go Bears...

Re: Recommend Mid-Range Windows in Chicago

Kicknback1, If I'm the Okna dealer who quoted your project, drop me an email and let me know who you are. I'd be more than happy to quote you another series or two of Okna windows with a lower price point that will still give you great performance numbers.

Re: Schuco aluminum commercial tilt and turn window repair

First, try calling Carole Vancedarfield at Schuco-USA. 1 860-666-0505 They do have some parts left after they sold their vinyl operations. I'm not very hopeful they have the part you need, but I would try them first. I've been surprised before when I've asked them for a part. If they don't have the ...

Re: Sunrise Essentials?

When I first saw it from my factory rep, he said that Sunrise saw that their dealers were using other brands as "drop windows" when people couldn't afford their windows. So, they decided to make a lesser quality window to capture those customers who couldn't buy their normal windows becaus...

Re: Okna triple pane - how much light loss?

My experience is that the triple from Okna will not tint the windows much at all. Blue sky will still be blue, green grass will still be green, and it won't look like it's getting ready to rain outside when looking out the windows on a normal day like much of the older generation triple panes did. I...

Re: Sliding Patio Door w/ Integrated Blinds

Ok I've officially spent way too much time researching patio doors. Seems like in some places I see the Elegante referenced as a 5600 model but in other places I see references to an 8800 model. Are there different models or are these the same door. Also one other site seemed to reference that you ...
