Oberon, I understand the break through difference. Tempered glass seems much stronger through my experience, I have seen cinder blocks bounce off of it and full force hammer blows with out breakage. For the cost difference I would rather use tempered, If they need more security, maybe steel bars are...

As far as security, glass breakage, and cost go wouldn't tempered glass be a better option?

My statement is true, you do need to select another glazing package besides the standard low e argon with intercept to qualify for the ETC.

yep,
but I like the super spacer and glass break warranty in the glazing package.
IMO for $35 how can you go wrong.
