You should be able to go to the NFRC's website at www.nfrc.org and compare the two.

That is very sad, but also very common for a lot of lazy installers. Over half the windows that we replaced in the month of December were vinyl replacement windows that Sears or some other local outfit in my area had done. None of them had any type of insulation around them. What style Vista Panoram...

That's the way the program was explained to us for to become an Elements dealer. Our situation was different than window4u's in that there was already an Elements dealer only 15 minutes away that has the potential to order more Elements windows from Soft-Lite than would be able to. This dealer is a ...

Imperial LS double-glazed with Super Spacer option featuring their standard low-e & argon will give you a overall u-factor of .27. A Sunrise Vanguard double-glazed with the XL Edge spacer from Cardinal featuring Low-e 3 will have an overall u-facotr of .28. Soft-Lite will be better built but the...

Buddy, The DH-12 is completely different than the DH-10. They are not even assembled with the same equipment at the plant. DH-12's were not available at the time you stopped dealing with Soft-Lite. They have been my #1 selling product lately. It's still not a perfect product, but my customers seem t...

As long as your Schuco windows are correctly installed and without any major problems such as misaligned grids, I think that you may feel differently about them once you get them installed. Speaking in an absolute manner that assumes that the windows will need service is not going to help your nerve...

I've always liked Atrium's shark fin tilt latches and their cam action locks. Much better choice than the Silverline products!

I would take the $1,500.00 without thinking twice. Sunclean demonstrations are real impressive in the house, but your windows will still need to be washed just like windows without Sunclean. Changing out the glass is a real pain. It's not all that hard but it will take some time for an entire house ...

The "top rated" marketing/window dealers in my area have such type of overhead expenses. I personally know how much a new Harley runs every 2 years, $5K Rolex watches, the trips to Vegas every couple of months, and lets no forget about those box seats for all of Philly's major sports teams...

1/3 down is very common. 1/3 may or may not even cover the cost of your windows. Some Mom & Pop smaller dealers may even ask for like 50% down as their mark up and prices are less.

If Soft-Lite is going to cut production on any of their windows it would most likely be the old "Imperial" DH-10 series due to the lack of request for it. They had replaced the DH-10 with the Imperial LS (DH-12). I believe that they had planned on running production out for another year or...

The 300 series is Sugarceek's best vinyl window. Standard glazing is with Super Spacer. We have a sample in our showroom. Pretty nice product, but pricey. I've never sold or installed them. The tilt latches and the balances seem a little goofy from the other high points of the design and quality of ...

In my area a do-it-yourselfer would have access to Certinteed, Ideal (4500 series), Simonton, Atrium, Jeld Wen, Paradigm and Allside. Each of these manufacturers will multiple series and grades of windows. Got to go, I headed to Home Depot to spend more money on some new Dewalt batteries and some st...
