Anlin vs Milgard vs other? please help

#1 Post by alfawolf »

Hi. I've gotten a few quotes for switching out our home's windows with double panes. We have 10 sliding windows, 1 picture window and 2 sliding patio doors. Of these, the doors, picture window and 5 basement windows need to be tempered (less than 18" off ground).

Here are the quotes:
Anlin InfinitePlus @ $9,100.00
Milgard Classic SunCoatMax @ $10,800.00

These are retrofit (is that the way to go?) installed. We have stucco on the lower level and wood on the top (2 story).

So, which brand is better? We live in the SF bay area of CA. We don't have AC and the bedrooms are upstairs, thus very hot in the summer. That's why we want the max UV/heat blocking features. Most of our windows face due East and West.

Should I post the sizes also, to see if they are reasonable?

Do you have recommendations for other brands over these?

Need help fast! Thanks!

Just talked to the Anlin rep. He had not priced the basement windows as tempered. The price for Anlin is now $9700.
