TeQ Foam by OSI

#1 Post by Window4U (IL) »

Anyone used this window foam by OSI?
http://www.osiproseries.com/Products.as ... oduct-page

It is being carried by a lot of supply houses now since it's made by the same company that sells Quad caulk. I haven't tried this product yet as we still have about 10 cases of Hilti still in stock. ABC has it for $12.87 a can so it's priced much better than Hilti.
I'd be curious to hear about it from anyone who has used it.

With an average size window 28x54 with an 1/8-3/16 all around window including larger gap to fill at bottom as sill slopes.......... How many windows could 1-can do???????

A ¼” (6.3 mm) bead size will deliver approximately 5315 ft. (1619 m) of foam.
A 3/8” (9.6 mm) bead size will deliver approximately 2361 ft. (720 m) of foam.
A ½” (12.7 mm) bead size will deliver approximately 1328 ft. (405 m) of foam.

This stuff works great and is priced right. Can be applied with Hilti gun or the OSI gun.

Good luck!

I use it on every job and I love it. I'm a fan of most of Henkel/OSI's products, they really stand behind them. When you use the whole winteq system on new contstruction they actually warranty your installation for like 15 years....In terms of coverage, I know the exact specs have been posted already, but a "real life" estimate is one can typically lasts 2 medium size jobs.

I've been using it for over two years now. I like it just fine, no problems. Your pricing is about what we pay for it. It seems to expand just a little less than the Hilti when it cures, which always messes me up if I switch brands back and fourth as I'll apply too much of the Hilit, and then have to scrap some away for the capping sometimes.

I do not know why but I like the Hilti foam best.
We also use the TeQ because of the price, and it works well.
Have any of you found a smaller nozzle for the great stuff guns?

Doesn't help. Points to Home Depot (who won't order it here), and a realitor (that I know), who used it a year or 2 ago, but was never a dealer.

Maybe you should try what we use when we're not using Hilti. This stuff is almost identical to Hilti and is priced very nicely. Their 9500 caulk is good too. You can order it direct from them.

The TeQ works great here. I'm bias though, I have a connection directly with Henkel. Substantial discount on all my OSI products. I just have to buy in quantity which isn't always practical.

Can you use the OSI Foam with a Hilti gun or is the OSI gun good enough?

All the gun threads are standard that I have seen.
