Ever heard of Diamond Windows?

#1 Post by tatin12 »

I'm new to the board and need some serious help. Has anyone ever heard of Diamond Windows out of Boston? I thinking of replacing about 24 windows in my old colonial and got a quote of $6000 intalled for the following window:

Rehau 6100 DH window
Heavy duty fusion welded frame & sash - Optimum performance
True sloped sill - Pleasing traditional look and improved performance
Aesthetically pleasing beveled outer framer - Enhanced architectural appeal
Triple weather strip design - Superior weather tight performance
Energy Star rated with Low E Argon glass - Optimum thermal performance
Night latches - Enhanced security
Integral new construction installation fin - Installation ease
Premium hardware package - Lifetime warrantee

First of all, is this a good price? Second, is it a good quality window? Is it comparable to any of the big name brands. I'm very leary about going with an unknown company. My internet research has turned up NOTHING
as far as reviews about this company...or their windows for that matter.

Thanks in advance your your help!

The information that you copied tells you very little about the window itself.

Look it up on the NFRC and see what the performance numbers are like. Those are much better evaluation tools than the fact about the window you have listed.

@250 and opening...installed, that is outlandishly cheap for your area of the country. I would be suspect of that price and product if it is that cheap.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't even know that website existed. When I looked up the window on the NFRC website, there were about 20 listings for the one window. I have to tell you that I have no idea which one mine is of the 20. Can anyone help me make sense of this link below?

Dave- does your link to Rehau then give you any information about Diamond windows? I could not find anything related to Diamond on the Rehau site.

Diamond Windows

I'm also investigating Diamond Windows for replacement in the Boston Area. I think Dave pointed to this site (Rehau.com) because the 6000 line of Diamond Windows is referred to as:

REHAU 6000 Series (Premium all Welded Window)

I want to learn more about these windows. They were recommended to me by an installer when I was investigating a different Vinyl Window from a big box store. Can't answer questions about Diamond or Rehau,
