Am looking for a good midgrade window. Visited a couple distribution centers in Indianapolis IN and one pushed Vinylmax (said 90% of their sales) and the other Lansing (which I believe is a private label Atrium) which they compared to the Simonton 5500.
Am not eligible for the Energy credit; but really need to replace some windows. What is the most important considerations in a midgrade? Do not have a contractor.

Re: Vinylmax in Ohio and Atrium
Find a good contractor first and see what they recommend. The best window, installed poorly, will not perform worth a darn. A mid-grade window, installed by a pro, will out perform the poorly installed product.
