Wincore 5400 Series Contractor Quote ($24,975)

#1 Post by kaycamcas1 »

I received a quote from a contractor to remove/replace/install 29 windows with frames in my 1998 2-story home damaged by Hurricane Michael. The quote is for 29 Wincore 5400 Series windows, sizes: 15 (36x58); 6 (23x58); 2 (29x58); 2 (35x48); 1 (30x32); 1 (35x34); and 2 half rounds 1(32") and 1 (72"). Is $24,975 to much for this project...it seems a little steep, especially when using entry-level vinyl replacement windows.

What kind of windows are coming out? Half rounds, especially the larger ones, are expensive.

Only 2 out of 29 are half round windows; a 32" and a 72"...I was quoted $720 for the 32" and $900 for the 72". Does that seem about right? What about the cost of all of the other windows? Minus the cost of the half windows, the total is still $23,355 for the other 27 windows.

Depending on the market, removal type, and access...it is not out of the realm of what we see at all.

With out the total scope and takeoff for the project it is very difficult to comment on pricing that would be accurate.

For instance are your existing units wood with traditional trim details?
Are you doing insert or full frame?
Insert is price M, full frame is M + $325. ( primed only standard casing).
