Sealing Replacement Vinyl Window

#1 Post by muellerm123 »

I am installing a replacement vinyl window into a larger window opening. I am going to re-frame the window but am a little confused on the best way to waterproof/seal the new window. Please see pics and plan attached. Any suggestions/comments? Thanks in advance!

The way to seal it depends on how you frame it . If it’s the same width as the existing you could just shorten the frame , raise the sill and put it in as insert.
If you are changing the RO you will need to tie into the existing weather barrier and new drip cap.
