Comparing ClimateGaurd, Simonton, and Window World 4000

#1 Post by RandsRoark »

I'm trying to choose between three replacement window estimates. One contractor wants to use ClimateGaurd Prosource series Virgin Vinyl. The other wants to use Simonton, but didn't specify which one. The third bid is from Window World, and they suggested their 4000 series.

Is this enough information to get some general guidance in terms of quality and value? I would be happy to provide more detail, or request more information from these three providers.

Never heard of the first, but anyone saying "virgin vinyl" is a red flag to me. Every window is "virgin vinyl" so that is like marketing a car as having 4 tires. i.e. not much special.

Simonton...gotta know which model he/she is quoting. If they didn't put that on the quote, another big red flag.

The last one isn't much if you ask the professional installers.

Do you mean Window World 4000 is not very good quality?

At first glance, the climateguard “Thermal Force” looks pretty decent. The other one’s dont look too good.
As far as virgin vinyl, you do want virgin vinyl over recycled vinyl. That said, even with virgin vinyl, there are different grades of it.
