Window Replacement

#1 Post by skchamps »

I am looking for replacement windows for 20-year-old builder-grade windows. I have gotten bid from Window Depot USA who uses Alside Mezzo which I haven't seen good reviews for. Does anyone have a recommendation for good energy-saving double-hung windows in the Dallas area?

One of the pros, Randy, is the guy for all things TX.
He is in Houston and busy as a one arm paper hanger.
Hopefully he will check in and advise. He likes some NT or DY product.

Sunrise is available in DFW and it’s going to be your best option for a premium vinyl window - just make sure it’s a Vanguard or Restoration series.

For mid-grade vinyl, NT’s Presidential, Energy Master or Traditions are all good options.

For thermally-broken aluminum, Don Young’s 8200 series is a great performer.

Since DFW can get some pretty harsh winter weather, if your windows aren’t overly large, I would probably opt for vinyl windows over aluminum. For Austin and all points south, aluminum is well worth considering.

yeah I agree with @randy if you're near to highway choosing a fiberglass is good but for durability vinyl window is good.
