Hello-
First post here so be easy on me. Yes, I did search the forum to try and find an answer to my question.
So- why don't window manufactures mass produce windows designed to fit in standard framed single bays?
IE: 22.25, 14.25 and 18.9375 wide for 24oc, 16oc and 19.1875oc respectively framing. No load bearing header would be needed, framing would be faster, less thermal bridging aside from 2x block top n bottom, location could be decided just before siding and it would save bunches of labor.
I framed, sheathed and roofed a 12x16 shed at my ranch 16oc and would love to pepper it w windows without altering the framing.
Oh I didn't read the rules. Do I have to resize photos to post em?
Thx!
Adam

Re: Windows between studs.
Good question, but the easiest answer would be that it would probably look like a prison with a bunch of narrow and long windows.

Washington-
I agree on the prison look if you used every other bay all at same hanging height, however if a person were to hang 2 bay in a row, skip a bay, and hang a different heights, I feel like it could create an artistic/architectural look...
