Windows won't stay up.
Windows won't stay up.
Double hung vinyl windows, 21 years old, they are the only 2 in the house with this
problem. I have to use an aluminum rod to prop the window closed when it gets cold.
I don't think this is an easy fix, I need a window mechanic right?
Thanks in advance.

I think I was just fined $38,000 for looking at the wood trim with the flaking paint by the EPA........

Re: Windows won't stay up.
Those are spiral tube balances.
Besides the new balances you will need a cheap balance adjustment tool/winder.

Pair of channel locks and wire cutters to hold on to it as you hook it back to the shoe is okay too.

It is not very difficult once you know what to buy and how to do the first one.

Pretty easy. You can noodle it I am sure.
You always have another window to use as a reference to put it back together.
