 argon window

we replaced all windows in our home except one previously replaced window. since day one we have had nothing but headaches with these republics. the windows are low e argon super g with rayflect. colder than our old wooden ones. new windows have condensation and ice build up on the glass. while the older window in same room has no problems.isn't the argon to prevent this from happening? thanks

Might want to check for improper installation and inadequate insulation.

ARGON IS NOTHING MORE THEN A VERY CONDENCD AIR THAT IS PUMPED IN BETWEEN TWO PC GLASS ACTS LIKE A BLANKET INBETWEEN THE GLASS

thanks! just to clear up....so the air acts as an insulator to keep the inside glass warmer than the outside glass? thanks.

if i read your window name correctly not all windows are created equal even if they are new. frame, window spacer, type of low=e application tin or silver ,be careful alot of contractors are not educated in U=value effeciency ratings builder series are usaully cheap and can create more promblems over the years.argon has atomic weight of around 38%,but frame ,spacer and glass can affect effeciency.

KRIS GLASS IS IS AN ENERGY CONDUCTOR ,SO THE ARGON STOPS THE COLD AIR FROM COMMING INTO YOUR HOME.WITH NO ARGON YOU HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF COLD COMMING IN AN HEAT GOING OUT . ITS HARD TO EXPLAIN BUT IT REALLY WORKS

thanks again! so if the argon is working properly, there should be absolutely no chance for ice to form on the inside glass...right?

You can have Low-e and argon and still have ice on your glass. I've got some pictures of a vinyl window with ice all over the bottom frame and on the lower glass. The install was done very poorly with the exterior edges not caulked and no insulation under the window. The exterior botton expander was 1/4" too short and not caulked. To make things worse the customer's hunidity was over 60% at 10 below outside. So there are quite a number of variables that can make this happen.
