Typically a French style door is taller than a sliding patio door. Atrium doors on the other hand are usually 79.5 high. So you might have to pay a cut down fee when choosing a French door over a slider or Atrium.

If you are planning on using "replacement"type windows there will be a gap outside anyhow.So capping is pretty much a given.

Is that installed?? I'm not a fan of the product, but that price is ridiculously low... So low that I would only do that deal if you are not worried about the installer being around to service the product in the future. At that price it's a pretty sure bet the installer won't be around in the futur...

111 united inches is not exactly a "small" window.
The air infiltration is fairly common with sliders. Although their might be a molehair tab missing somewhere.
Sliding windows have to have a weep system in the lower frame,Make sure the weephole covers are in place.

I believe in triple with krypton and foam spacers. If the weather out is 10° would you wear a windbreaker or a heavy winter coat? yes you can put a handrail in front and avoid tempered glass. But why?Just throw the correct glass in it and be done. Retail should be about 75-100 a window up-charge.
