Re: Looking for quality installer in West Chester, PA

Color is a non-issue as I'm going white. The 800's will cost $40 more per window x 28 = $1120 more...

Re: Looking for quality installer in West Chester, PA

The window dealer/installer (Choice) came out and measured my 28 DH windows and we mainly discussed Okna 500 windows as this is one of their top windows and also the direction I was thinking. The price quoted was very competitive compared to the numbers I've seen on this forum, but before I give the...

Choice will be out Monday and I will probably wait as you suggest as Okna does build a quality window and Choice seems to have a good reputation.

Re: Looking for a replacement window with a thin frame

Excellent question! Are Sunrise windows not available in your area? Not sure if your ? is for me or bignick, but yes, I do have a Sunrise dealer/installer in my area and their quoted price was about $5K more than I was quoted for the Okna 300 series with foam filled frames & sashes. The Soft-li...

Re: Head Spinning-(Okna, Ideal or Simonton)?

Okna is a very good manufacturer with a reputation for making some of the best windows on the market. When you compare the windows thermally keep in my that each .01 in u-value savings will save about $100 dollars per year on your energy bills. This may be a justification to go to a higher performa...

Re: Head Spinning-(Okna, Ideal or Simonton)?

I could use some opinions from the pro's. After looking at many windows and getting quotes from several dealer/installers I think I've narrowed my choices to only several windows now - lol. I'm in SE PA and looking to replace 39 windows (2 picture, 3 casement, 1 half circle & 33 DH). Window cap...

Re: Looking for a replacement window with a thin frame

Soft-Lite Bainbridge Okna Starmark 500 or 300 Alside Excalibur In my quest to find the perfect window, at least for me, I'm now looking into the Okna 500 series which has just recently been introduced. Re: Okna Starmark vs Soft-lite Elements?

Both great products. You can't go wrong with either. The Imperial/Elements has a better air infiltration ratings than the Starmark but the overall U-factor nod goes to the Starmark. Great products overall. Thanks for the feedback, Any thoughts or concerns regarding the composite frames used on Star...

Okna Starmark vs Soft-lite Elements?

I've been window shopping for replacements and have met with 4 window companies and looked at their offerings from Ideal, Okna Starmark, Dove, PlyGem Lifestyles and Soft-lite Elements. My research is leaning me toward Soft-lite, either their Bainbridge, Imperial or Elements windows, but I thought th...
