Simonton 5500 patior door doesn't meet tax credit?
I finally made a decision to have the Simonton 5500 windows installed with the superspacer, double strength glass and 1" IG and got a great price from an installer who comes highly recommended by 2 different local simonton wholesalers. When we started discussing the patio door options, he menti...

Re: Simonton, Great Lakes & Alside - Help me make a choice
Thanks for the help. The other thing i forgot to mention is that the Grandview 5000 windows were quoted for triple pane whereas the other are all double pane. Does this change your recommendations at all? Also one of the salesmen who offers both the simonton and the great lakes said that if my budge...

Simonton, Great Lakes & Alside - Help me make a choice
I've been looking through this site for a while and I've gotten a bunch of estimates. I'm looking to replace 7 double hung, 5 sliders, 1 casement and a sliding door. The installers & windows that have impressed me the most are for the Simonton Prism Platinum/5500's, the Alside Sheffield and the ...

Re: 2009 Stimulus Package - Tax Rebate for Window
I'm looking primarily at the Sheffield: 7 double hung, 3 sliders, 1 small casement window and a 6100 patio door. Looking at the climatech glass with super spacer.
Thanks,
Jack

Can anyone tell me which Alside windows/options will pass the new tax rebate standards? I tried looking at the nfrc website, but most of that is chinese to me.
Thanks,
Jack

Re: Simonton, Revere, Amerimax or Milgard in Denver
The vendor selling the Alsides keeps making his offer better. 13 sheffield windows plus a patio door all with Low E/climatech glass, double hung, super spacer all for only $6400. I know the simontons seem to be more favored on this site, but is it worth it to pay $1400 (21%) more for them???

Re: Simonton, Revere, Amerimax or Milgard in Denver
Ok, I've gotten a handful of estimates, and done extensive research, and I've narrowed it down to 2 vendors with 2 different windows. 13 standard windows (1 is currently a garden window but will be replaced with a slider or casement) 1 patio door Vendor A: Alside Sheffield (or Fairfield) w/ super sp...

Re: Simonton, Revere, Amerimax or Milgard in Denver
for the glass packages, I was going to use the cardinal 272 on the north facing windows, but I'm getting varying information on whether to go with 366 on the south side or triple coated. Does anyone have any recommendations? Again, I'm in denver, so we do get some strong sun on the south side and al...

Re: Simonton, Revere, Amerimax or Milgard in Denver
Thanks for the input, I've looked through yours and shopper in co's posts and checked the reviews as well. The Simontons look like they garner the most favorable reviews followed by alside/revere, amerimax and then milgard. I'm still getting more estimates but if you have any installers that you rec...

Simonton, Revere, Amerimax or Milgard in Denver
Hi guys, I've been looking through this forum for a while now and have gotten several estimates for replacing all the windows in my house. These four windows are about the same price, give or take, and I wanted to see which you think would be best for Denver's climate and altitude. The Milgard and A...
