Air Infiltration Ratings

I have a Sunrise brochure that indicates a .03 air infiltration rating (a measure of the amount of air infiltrating the window under certain conditions), but I am having difficulty finding air infiltration ratings for other brands (Simonton, Gorell, Alside) either on their websites or in their produ...

When I do that I get a long list of businesses that seem to be suppliers only - people who will sell me the windows but not install them. Am I wrong? If I'm right, do I need to call one of these suppliers to find installers?

Finding Simonton dealers in Chiacgo

I have been a little frustrated in my efforts to find contractors who deal in Simonton. The "Request A Quote" page in this site doesn't allow me to specify Simonton, and Googling brought me very little success - maybe I'm just not being smart about how I'm searching. Can someone suggest an...

Re: New Simonton 5500’s

Stevet,

I live in northwest suburban Chicago too and am looking for contractors who deal in Simonton. Is there a quick way to do a search this way, either on this site or by Googling? I have been frustrated in both efforts so far.

Re: Milgard/Pella/Sunrise - Does it matter much?

With pricing so close between mid-grade and premium windows, you don't need to skimp on product for any reason... Get a good contractor... with installers who utilize the most modern installation practices and who have a track record of success. Okay, this is really starting to help! So... would yo...

Re: Milgard/Pella/Sunrise - Does it matter much?

Thanks for not bogging me down in the details, but here is what I'm getting at. I read somewhere something to this effect: Better to have an inferior window installed expertly than a superior window installed poorly. Of course this depends on how much inferior the window. We plan to be in this house...

Milgard/Pella/Sunrise - Does it matter much?

Contractors in my area (suburban Chicago) are offering to replace about 10 windows (mostly double hung and sliders) in my home with Milgard Tuscany, Pella Encompass, and Sunrise windows. I have been researching windows in general and these brands in particular and I feel like I'm getting lost in the...
