Re: egress and normal casements
Did you select double pane, triple pane? Where are you located? How long ago were they installed?

Re: engress and normal casements
I wonder if there is any difference in force required to crank at various travel points. From pictures, it looks like the slash on an egress slides a much smaller distance in the slider than a normal casement. Remember the whole weight of the sash rests on a small 1/2" piece of plastic that sl...

Re: engress and normal casements
I believed the hardware between an egress and normal casement, that is the operator and slide, were not far apart. The installer in this video changes the casement to an egress by swapping out the slider and operator. Do the new parts he installs cost more than the parts he removes? https://www.yout...

Re: engress and normal casements
I’m the OP, I didn’t do a very good job with the question. egress and normal casements
I’m familiar with normal hinged casements but I have never operated an egress casement. A benefit of an egress is a full, unobstructed view. Operation of the sash and pulling the sash in is something I can’t pinpoint comparing the two from pictures. Casements sometimes require pushing the sash out b...

Re: snap in flanges, extruded flanges
The upper end SL lines optioned with factory applied nailing flanges are very sturdy and have the corners welded, plus it's a thick flange that snaps around the face and backside of the factory accessory/utility groove. When these flanged new construction units leave the plant there is no "slo...

snap in flanges, extruded flanges
Okna new constructions have a nailing flange that is part of the frame. The flange is extruded with the frame at the time of manufacture making the frame and flange one. A true new construction window. Softlite does not make new construction windows. To compensate, they offer a nailing flange attach...
