Leaving a window open a crack was silly advice. What was your ACH (air changes/hr)? This would have been and only could have been calculated with a blower door test using manometers. If your ACH was around or below 10-15%, you should have been moved towards mechanical ventilation utilizing an ERV or...

A unit specified at .01, .02 or higher is possible. Keep in mind that this is for a tested, singular unit and unfortunately is NOT representative of every unit that comes of the line. If the fusion welders are off or the weatherstripping is by even a small fraction, the numbers are useless.

All of your windows are replacement windows, as they are replacing old ones. The terms are often used incorrectly. If you authorized them to enlarge a framed opening, there would be an additional construction charge that should have been noted on your contract. Windows correctly branded as "New...

Well... for the items you noted, you could get cardboard for about 50 bucks less. It would be wise to research your product a bit more. They are not high-end windows. That is a low-end price for a low-end product.
Sorry.

Just to clarify, if you read my original post, it is complimenting Simonton "service"... not all Simonton products. I will note that my showroom samples are pretty clean... certainly 100 times better than the photos of the sample W4U received and posted. I wouldn't put that mess in a dog h...

Impressed by Impressions

As I am no longer selling Schuco products, I have brought in other window lines into my showroom. I ordered three Simonton Impressions 9800 samples, all triple, grids, one in white (DH), one in tan (2-lt Cas) and one in woodgrain (2-lt Slid). They were delivered in 8 days and don't have scatches, de...

He laughing because he has nothing personally to lose... and sees me as just one of their smaller dealers. He's laughing because his ignorance makes him believe that being part of a large corporation entitles them to laugh in the face of individuals. I know from the inside that they fear the America...

No... I'm sure that is why he just laughed. I'd guess a BK... or he's just an ignorant fool. I have met him in person, but he has NO authority, just a title. He has broken many promises too. I'm sure he took my call as just another unhappy dealer complaining. But wait... this dealer happens to give ...

SCHUCO UPDATE

After literally dozens of calls from my office... none have been returned. I average 1-2 calls per week from custmers seeking solutions to product issues. The conference call I mentioned with Schuco was never followed through with on their part. I happened to catch and just got off the phone with Ri...

You have to understand one basic principle. In most European countries and companies, warranties don't exist. It's my understanding that the ONLY warranty Schuco has ever provided in writing was specifically for the US market venture. I am sure that their legal team is very aware of the US legal sys...

Unfortunately, some dealers not only continue to sell but they knowingly kept the problems from their recently sold clients prior to manufacture so they wouldn't lose a sale or have to return a deposit.

Uuummm.. a U-factor of .17 is an R-5.88, not 11. They are giving you a center of glass R-value (about the size of a quarter) and does not represent the entire window.

So it begins. Here a an email quote directly from Schuco to one of my clients that is attempting to get service. The complaint was a glass issue as well as air leakage issues on other units. "Although I cannot get into the details as to the delay in shipping out your glass, we will be sending th...

Truck/Van Preferences?

With the changes in the Illinois law, most sub-contractors will become a thing of the past as it is official that as of Jan.08 installers will have to be full-time employees. I am very Ok with this. Part of bringing everything in-house is increasing trucks and trailers. Do any of you have preference...
