Ok... I realize it is very rare that I upset someone's claim or point of view (ducking), but here goes. The 3/4 vs 1" glass has nothing to do with air leakage and you should receive what you purchased on your contract, but that is a conduction issue. Next, Air infiltration or exfiltration is to...

I am looking for a good product that is not going to break the bank. The estimate from Lowe's was $8600, which was good, but I am not certain about Reliabilt windows. I can not find any info on them. Home Depot was $11000, but their windows was ranked #1 according to JD Powers. The Contrators windo...

LOL... I don't work for Owens Corning... they bring me in from time to time as a corporate consultant and subject matter expert. Owens Corning does not currently even make a window. I'd love to see the advertisements near you.

Kimmer It absolutely matters. Fiber glass should not be used for this purpose as it doesn't work... it neither insulates or airseals when used in this fashion. This is verified by the manufacturers of the FG products themselves. I am a consultant for Owens Corning as well as Johns Manville... trust ...

If you are referring to an In-line Slider, we would probably be around $800-900 for that unit... depending on variables.

It's more than likely a quality control issue with the manufacturer. If the glass cutting equipment is not properly maintained it can leave an unequal scoring on the surface of glass before it is snapped. Any imperfection remaining at the cut glass edge will promote the likelyhood of a stress fractu...

Cheryl is right... but there are many other variations to consider as well... which is why the RESFEN program is only moderately accurate at best. Although partially funded by the government.. it is not accepted for government programs. AV As noticed in several other posts you have made, I can see t...

The Sears window is not a Sears window.. it's made for them by Simonton, they just put a different sticker on it. In that price range you can get a top-of-the-line performer, which the Simonton product sold by Sears is not. Since you like the window, your other option would be to get a quote from a ...

You got what you paid for.. I hope the results are what you expect too. Low-E/Argon on a new window, even with an Energy Star sticker does not mean a noticeable improvement of energy savings, comfort or resale. Many can actually decrease your resale as they look cheap and plastic. They can also actu...

The issues might seem relatively minor to some. The door is built like a German tank but it glides very nicely. The Issues are that the fixed panel needs to be installed into the masterframe before the frame is installed and therfore is not removable afterwards, nor does it have vertical or horizont...

The best glasspack on the market. But the relatively new American Slider design has issues which I have addressed numerous times with Schuco corporate. I'd suggest waiting a bit and seeing how they address those issues.
