Hey...if they said, "Jim...I'll sell you the windows for $750 each." I'd sign today and tell Andersen not to bother coming tonight. Did you tell him that? I'd be surprised if he'd let you hang up the phone and not take the deal. Most dealers do want to maintain margins, but at the same ti...

There has to be some way to have the government or someone control the pricing in this industry! It's not fair. There's no proof that the prices are good. They can charge whatever people are willing to pay. There already is something regulating it...a free market. As the internet and forums like th...

Congrats and good luck on your purchase. If you are comfortable that's the most important thing. For the record it wasn't Schuco but the individual dealer that your should be upset with. Not all Schuco dealers use the tactics you describe. There are bad apples in any window dealer network, its just ...

Bill from Uneeda is a frequent poster on this site and is an excellent source for Simonton. I won't speak for whether he'll go 200 miles to do a job -- but I doubt it. There is a Simonton dealer in Va Beach called Assurance Ltd -- he might be able to help you out. As for NuView -- a lot of the probl...

I don't believe Wellington is even available outside Mpls, Chicago and Milwaukee. As a company they do their own manufacturing, sales and installation. They advertise pretty heavily here in the Twin Cities -- they have a local radio weather guy as a spokesman. (Which I always questioned -- I thought...

We haven't really had any problems with them....as long as the window is installed correctly they work fine. I would think your dealer would switch them out if you don't like them, it doesn't take anything but time to put cam locks on.

Get a couple quotes in the next few days. (Try using the Request a Quote button on this site!) If you decide that its a great deal, call the guy back and tell him you want to go for it. I'll 100% Absolutely GUARANTEE he'll be back, most likely before the end of the day to write the order.

I live in MN, so I'm hardly an expert in hurricane windows. But I do know that Simonton has really gone into that segment hard. Their Stormbreaker window is one of the few that have the Dade County approval. Simonton StormBreakerâ„¢ Plus Products Receive Dade County Approval PARKERSBURG WV - Buildin...

The new Schuco warranty hasn't been published yet. There was a Schuco dealer meeting in ATL last fall, FenEx and myself were there among others where Schuco reps took dealer recomendations about what should be included in this strenghend warranty. We've had assurances from Schuco that when it comes ...

As Guy said, there are two Schuco dealers in MN. If your experiance mentioned above was from my company...I apologize, and would like to know who your rep was offline. If it wasn't....I encourage you to look around.

Have you thought about buying Schuco windows from a dealer outside Oregon and then shipping them to you? I've seen it done before. Find the best damn installer in Oregon and have him install them for you. Just a thought.
