Installing windows yourself

#1 Post by alexku »

Guys,

what are the chance that average skilled person(yep, that's myself)
can install vinyl windows without any problems? Currently I have old fogged up aluminum windows.
Is there any particular brand better suited for DIY?

What about warranty if you install windows yourself?

Thanks,
Alex

I can't answer the warranty part, but we installed a replacement window in our kitchen, came out real good. We contracted out when we decided to replace all of our windows. The contractor said we did a real good job on installing it.

Took us only 4 hours too. :P If had decided to replace our windows in piecemeal instead of bulk, I would have been tempted to do it ourselves.
