Need to replace original single pane, aluminum frame windows in the front of our house. It is south facing and gets a tremendous amount of sun into the front bedroom. Considering a thermal break aluminum frame, double pane window. Is this the best way to go or is vinyl an option also? Cost is a consideration. Is there a type of glass I should also look for?
Thanks for any help.

Thermally broken aluminum with Low-e 366 should work.

Thanks for the reply. Will look for that window. I know of 2 Milgard dealers and will check with them.

Agree with aluminum, with thermally-broken frames if available.
