I have recently been told that there are two different types of welding of seals: fusion (using heat) and chemical, and that fusion is better. Do you agree?
Thanks.

Chemical welding is a fancy name for caulking the corners with a material that seals better than caulk. Fusion welding is done in the mfrg process actually melting down the vinyl in the corners and forming a very durable bond and is the most common method used for vinyl windows.
Fiberglass windows cannot be welded but don't need it and instead use a corner gusset.
