ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE SURVIVOR 5600 windows?
I am having a window contractor install them.
7/8" Guardian Performance Plus(tm) Low 'E' Insulated Glass
Argon-Gas-filled
Insulating Foam in Fram Perimeter
All he does is window installs with the same crew on each job.
I know theses are also sold as reliabilt at lowes.
Any opinions would be welcome.
SURVIVOR/Reliabit 5600 series
if they're insulated frames, then they're the 7100, which is a step UP from the 5600
the 5600 is 3/4" glass... no option for insulated frame
7100 has the insul frame option
Are you getting them from Lowe's? sounds like you may have gotten the "high performance" package.
one of the best warranties in the business... lifetime for the period you own the home (vinyl and construction)... if you sell, it's 50 yrs transferrable. In other words, if you sell the home in 20 years, there's still 30 yrs left for the new owner (for vinyl parts) glass is 20 yrs (industry standard for basic glass) and hardware (balances, sash locks, crank operators, etc) is 5 yrs. and NO owner-occupied restrictions (same warranty whether you live there or it's a rental property)
The transferrability is a nice feature should you decide to sell your home.
