Aesthetics Concern

#1 Post by mariabrowne@dwt.com »

I have committed to replacing the windows on our home but struggling to find style I like. The old widows have storms that aren't attractive but the painted trim and windows themselves are. I like the subtlety. I don't love the amount of material that comes with capping. Is there a window brand that has less extra material (i.e., capping,
frames)? I am looking for a thinner profile. Thanks!!

Let's see what you are seeing. In some cases you can set the window from the interior and butt it into the exterior stop, but most folks like the lack of painting and other maintenance burden that capping provides.

Done well...capping can be very complimentary.

+1, pics would help. It sounds like the installation details would be more impactful than the window itself based on your explanation, but pics would tell a bit more.
