Forget about the Champion and WW. Okna and Gorell are your best bets.
The Okna 800 is comparable to the 5300, the 500 a step down. Stick to the 800 vs 5300 for an level playing field. Either will be exceptional.

Re: Arizona window options - Alside, Amerimax, Simonton
In your climate the lower the SHGC the better. Simonton has low .20's I believe. Out of the bunch you've mentioned I think they're the best option.

Re: Need help; plygem, showcase, NT or Gorell
If the Gorell window you had quoted is roughly equivalent to the NT Energy Master, the price difference is too much, I agree. The NT Energy Master, while not a top echelon vinyl window, is a solid choice when on a budget. Once again, I would encourage you to spend some time, (prior to making a deci...

Re: Window Installation - Atlanta Area
I have never seen a bid a quote from WW for $189 per window.Yes, it starts at $189 but then they start nickel and dming you.Things such as storm window removal, insulating pockets, window disposal, window wrapping, ect. Any of the bids I have seen are all over $300 with out window wrapping.I can't c...

Re: has anyone dealt with Four Seasons (LI,NY) for windows?
Well as I said they don't manufacture their own windows. As for Rehau it's a mid grade window, certainly nothing special. I sell HGI doors and they're pretty high quality. HGI makes Rehau

Re: Alside Thermalmaxx model 0200 (Excalibur) windows
I bought from my neighbor that works for them. They were right in line on price with the other companies that I looked at over a couple years of searching. Again, I am happy with what I have. My energy bills dropped about 30% and they look and function well. Like I said, I know others that have the...

Re: Alside Thermalmaxx model 0200 (Excalibur) windows
I replaced every window in my house with The Window Store in October 2009, using the Thermalmaxx windows. They are wonderful windows that have saved me lots in energy bills and made my house very livable. They cut down noise too. I have nothing bad to say about The Window Store Home Improvements. T...

Re: Need help; plygem, showcase, NT or Gorell
I agree with buddy, the Gorell is the best choice. The 5100 series will give you the narrow sightlines that you are looking for. Add fiberglass reinforcement to the dh's to increase the strength... The Plygem would not be a bad option either, but the Gorell would be my first choice. You can't get t...

Re: Need help; plygem, showcase, NT or Gorell
I like Gorell out of the bunch. For the windows that get blazing hot sun, I'd recommend SMIII glass package. It will reduce SHGC by a great deal over douple pane. The 5100 will be fine for your picture windows IMO. Although the 5300 is sturdier, it's also fatter which is where it gets it's stregnth ...
