My brother just put in some Prism platinum's in his house and noticed about the same amount of movement as you described.Doesn't seem to be a problem but they do move a lot more then some other brands.

Re: More Simonton instasll questions
I also noticed on the Simonton's that they have an exterior drainage flap on the sill.i assume that it is to drain water out of the inner side flat side of the sill.I guess that it would make this window a sloped sill and pocet sill combintation?

More Simonton instasll questions
These questions are for Simonton Prism Platium series, nail fin installed brick removed. Qestion#1:There is a sticker on the nail fine that states "donot brick up to frame, leave 1/4'' gap for expansion".This seems to be a bit much to me,does everyone leave this much of a gap or do they go...

Re: Simonton install questions
I always pull the windows tight to the inside stop and add a stop extension to the exterior side.On windows that large you can run a screw through the head of the jamb, but not the sill. Most picture windows will also have mounting points in the head as well. The windows would be easier and more secur...

Re: Texas Bronze Vinyl windows sagging
Screwing the frame will not do anything for sagging sashes. The head of the frame could be screwed but the bottom should be shimmed only.I also don't see how the frame being out of square would cause the sashes to warp.Sounds like a poor design and the color is maybe compounding the problem. At least ...

Re: Soft-Lite Imperial, Element , Simonton 5500 or Thermal Ind.
How does Soft-Lite Imperial LS or Element compare to Simonton 5500 and is anyone familiar with Thermal Industries 530 window? Softlite and Simonton are both excellent brands and both are highly recommended by the Pros on here. Softlite has a slightly better U-factor and air infiltration ratings tha...

what are the options you are choosing for your windows? That price seems high for materials unless you are piling on the options.
