Re: Sunrise V Model vs Simonton 5500 vs Wincore 7700

Im shocked Wincore is still around. I am also not a fan of simonton. I like the sunrise V class much better. Have you looked at Okna Windows or even Soft Lite? You may want to take a look as most of the guys here seem to really endorse the Okna product and see there is a dealer thats available by yo...

Re: Can any contractor install Okna

A higher end window manufacturer will generally steer clear of “ jack of all trades “ types who arent quality oriented. Historically these types tend to have a hard time managing their finances and usually survive in large part due to homeowners who just want the cheapest price. These “ jack of all ...

Re: Pure Core Platinum windows

No Todd, my suits certainly dont come from a thrift shop or sears. I can only imagine what your wardrobe looks like. If only my imagination would allow me to conjure up that very amusing image.

Re: Pure Core Platinum windows

It all sounds expensive lol, I guess I'll have a better idea after I get the Soft-Lite quote. [/quote] If you never bought a nice suit before, you may think that was expensive. If you never bought a well made bicycle, you would think that was expensive. If you never bought a good fishing pole you wo...

Re: Economy 54x54 Sliders for Porch?

Thats about right for a very low quality window ( jeldwin) and a stock size. Thats actually cheap even though its a bottom of the barrel window.

Sunrise is lifetime. The 10 year is most likely for labor.

Go with the company that caps the exterior with aluminum. The nonsense about not being able to see water damage is just that; nonsense.

The Vytex is a much better window and your pricing is extremely cheap if you are getting black exterior. Its cheap if you were getting white exterior.

Re: Alside Mezzo Technical Respons

One complaint is they are flimsy and need to use “ cheater pads “ in the meeting rails because of air infiltration. Also the so called reinforcement isnt actually a reinforcement bar at all. Further, the foam is some kind of strange insert that doesnt seem to fill the chambers. This window was made ...

Re: Okna 500 vs 600

The Okna 600 and the 800 both have interlocking sills, interlocking headers, and structural reinforcement. The 500 does not have any of those structural enhancement features. Sounds like the guy with the 500 series cannot get the Okna 600. The Okna 600 does not feel the least bit cheap and either do...

Re: Cleveland Quote- Offer your opinion!

You are “ inclined to go with polaris” for only one reason; its the cheapest. I dont recommend choosing your surgeon that way.
No advantage by having a siding guy do the windows. Okna is the best of that bunch. As far as the ridiculous polaris quote, you have to wonder if the contractor uses heroin.

Re: Vinyl window lead time in Philadelphia suburbs

Its was much more of an issue in public housing. Further, i know many contractors who have worked around lead paint for 40 years and not one has issues with lead. Unless your children are chewing on the sills or the walls or the doors for that matter, which i dont see happening, i probably wouldnt w...
