Re: Enviro View windows
***As I was typing this, I received a phone call on my cell from the salesman. I did not answer and he left a voicemail. He just learned that we had canceled the contract. He indicated he was obviously very upset by this and could possibly lose his job as a result. Now do I need to worry about repe...

Re: Enviro View windows
What kind of proper documentation should we be looking for? I am gathering my information (copies of the right to cancel law and a written copy of my request, but I was never given the state notice of the Customer's Right to Cancel.) I have a copy of that law from the website, but what should I get...

Re: Enviro View windows
Any ideas for installers in this region? Southern WI? I still have a few days to cancel, and I am not sure what my next step should be? This has nothing to do with windows, but I have a personal policy that if you tell me the price is good "only today" I tell you to hit the road. My opini...

Re: Is everyone ready for the new lead testing requirements?
When checking with that link only 6 people in my area show up. Besides myself, I personally know at least a dozen others that are certified (they took the class with me) and are not showing up. I know we have gone up against firms that are not certified and are telling customers that "your job ...

Re: Milgard vs. Ply-Gem Sliding Door
A 10' slider usually has more than 2 door panels. Milgard does not, at least not in Oregon, install the glass in patio doors with more than 2 door panels. Having your installer field glaze the unit could be an additional cost. I would love to hear back from someone outside of Oregon if this is not t...

Re: confused in northern new jersey - Help
Recently I had a customer come in that had spoken to 5 different dealer/installers all quoting him 5 different window brands and the prices were all over the place. He, like you, was more confused than when he started. I had to correct misinformation and straight out lies. He finally decided to buy ...

Re: I need a really good DH replacement window
If you can afford lami glass, go for it, but if not another lesser expensive method for cutting sound is to change one pc of glass to 3/16" (or even 1/4"). However, make sure you keep the air space as that is a huge factor in stc and it's the "why" that triple glazed windows are ...

Re: Milgard vs. Ply-Gem Sliding Door
Milgard is over-priced and the Tuscany line comes with a "glass breakage warranty" that you are paying for big time. Both are quality products.

Re: Opinions on Ply Gem ... United ... Velux windows?
Just a little heads up info.... Ply Gem purchased the CertainTeed Windows line during the past couple of years. CertainTeed had gone down hill in service and quality over the past 5 years.....and I was glad that someone picked them up to try and turn the line around. Recently I requested of Ply Gem ...

Re: Painting vinyl windows
We offer 2 different lines of vinyl windows available with a "thermally reflective paint" finish. !0 year warranty on the paint and you don't lose the lifetime warranty on the glass. Generally speaking it adds about 60% to the cost of the windows. This is way less than fiberglass windows. ...

Too bad you didn't Google them before deciding to work with them.
The Washington State AG just fined them for deceptive business practices.

Check the warranties.
My recollection is that WS is one of the few vinyl windows without a lifetime warranty.

Re: constant force vs block and tackle
Thanks for the above info.
I would add this one thing:
I feel that it's a lot easier to replace block and tackle balances when they do go bad.
