+1 ... You could do worse, but I definitely would not call it a "good" choice.

Actually MI does offer a couple "exclusives", but they are just re-labeled 1650's  .

Re: Certainteed/Viwinco Windows Poor Quality and Warranty

It is very common for manufacturers to have only a few years of coverage on the labor of a lifetime warranty window. This is one reason to go ahead and have your windows installed by a professional company who picks up the labor portion after the manufacturer no longer covers it... I don't think tha...

Re: help with window replacements

In my area, you'd should be able to find a white double pane version from those manufacturers for under $600. I'd also add Sunrise and Plygem as worthy of consideration... Please understand though that every market is different, so pricing can vary substantially.

Re: Great Lake - Ply Gem - Penguin Windows

Superior, Congratulations on your recent success. I admire the way that you do business as I run my company in the same fashion. You won't find any high-pressure or unethical practices in my company. As I said, I agree with the content of your post, I just think that: 1. Ethical sales practices are ...

Re: Great Lake - Ply Gem - Penguin Windows

EDIT.Superior, your present and past posts clearly show a vendetta against them (Great Lakes)... As for the content, I agree 100%. These energy-savings pledges are misleading and unethical. Here's some info for you though: Softlite, Sunrise, Gorell, and Milgard dealers in my area make these claims C...

Re: Weathershield Visions 2000 Leaking Problems - How do we Proc

Please forgive me for saying this, but I can't resist the irony that your screen name is data gatherer, but there is very little to no data anywhere (other than thier own literature) that would suggest that the Weathershield visions is a good product... Sorry, I just had to say it ... Now that...

Re: Gorell--simonton

+1 to buddy's comments. Regardless of how this reward is handed out, Gorell and Alside should never be used in the same sentence except to describe the "right" and "wrong" ways to design, manufacture, and service a product.

I've heard good things, but have yet to see it... Do you have a link or anything? If so, post it on the contractor's section.

Re: Dream house Windows

They seem to have very low(numerically) SHGC's though which won't do well in a cooler climate. As for the plastic strips, maybe it's a pre-manfactured piece that snaps into...
